Welcome back to our regular feature, "Meet Our Doctors". In this installment, we’re introducing you to Dr. Adam Sperl, Orthodontist at our Maple Grove, Eden Prairie and Minnetonka locations. In his profile, Dr. Sperl shares why he chose the Orthodontic specialty, what he finds most rewarding, and fun facts about his personal life. Enjoy learning more about Dr. Sperl!
What made you choose dentistry?
I grew up in a healthcare family and always loved tinkering as a kid. Through observing my childhood dentist, I found dentistry provides the benefits of a healthcare career while allowing me to solve problems and do hands-on work.
What made you choose your specialty?
I learned to love orthodontics as I went through Invisalign treatment myself. Everything about orthodontics, from evaluating and treating patients using digital technology to the fast-paced environment, fits my personality.
What do you love most about your specialty or what do you find the most rewarding?
I enjoy improving my patients’ health and confidence through their orthodontic journey.
What’s your care/treatment philosophy?
I strive to provide truly individualized care by educating and guiding my patients to select the best treatment option for their unique needs. During treatment, I focus on making the patient experience as convenient, comfortable, and streamlined as possible.
When did you start or how many years have you been with The Dental Specialists?
I’ve been with The Dental Specialists Orthodontics since 2020.
What is one thing you love most about The Dental Specialists?
The streamlined communication and collaboration with other specialists and general dentists.
What do you enjoy most about being part of a group practice?
The support from fellow doctors and our administrative staff allows me to focus on providing care for my patients.

- What did you want to be when you were a kid?
Professional baseball player. - What was your very first job?
Freelance lawn care and landscaping. - What do you like to do on your days off?
I like to travel with my wife when I have a chunk of time away from work. A typical day off would consist of walking my dog, golfing, and spending time with my wife and my parents/sisters at our home. - What’s your favorite food or drink?
Ice cream! - Who is your hero or who inspires you?
My dad - What is an interesting fact that people may not know about you?
I play guitar currently and used to play drums. - If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A return to Switzerland is next on the list. - What’s your favorite movie?
Good Will Hunting and Ratatouille. - What’s your favorite genre of music to listen to?
Pop (new and old) and electronic dance music. - What are your hobbies?
Golf, travel, fishing, hunting, house renovations. - What’s your favorite holiday?
Christmas - Do you speak any other languages?
No - Are you scared of or have a fear of anything?
Heights without a railing/barrier. My wife is the designated ladder-climber when it gets above the first story. - What’s your favorite thing about living in Minnesota/Wisconsin?
