Welcome Dr. Quentin Knutson

The Dental Specialists is excited to welcome pediatric dentist, Dr. Quentin Knutson!

Dr. Knutson is practicing at our Maple Grove location. In 2012, Dr. Knutson graduated with his Bachelors of Science in genetics, cell biology, and development from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. A few years later, he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Later in 2021, Dr. Knutson received his Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry also from the University of Minnesota. The following year in 2022, Dr. Knutson became board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr. Knutson is a part of many organizations. He is a Diplomate on the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, PACER Medical Advisory Board, and Mission Save a Smile. Additionally, Dr. Knutson also serves as the current President of the Minnesota Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, is an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and a casual attending at the Hennepin Healthcare Residency clinic. 

Dr. Knutson credits his mom, a dental assistant, for getting him interested in dentistry. One challenge that he loves is winning over apprehensive patients and watching them overcome their fears. He believes all kids have tremendous potential and he enjoys teaming up with families to help their kids reach this potential. Dr. Knutson is compassionate and aims to treat all children the way he would want his children treated. And, he sees treating children and patients with disabilities as a great responsibility and privilege. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Knutson enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children. The perfect weekend would be exploring a state park by bike or foot and roughing it at a campsite with his family. One of his favorite summer hobbies is rearing monarch butterflies. Dr. Knutson has always loved music from his time marching his trombone with the University of Minnesota Marching Band to now offering vocals with his church. Dr. Knutson grew up in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and enjoys all Minnesota sports teams.
